Alford’s Flip Highlights Next Wave of LOIs
The next set of LOIs are in for West Virginia highlighted by Georgia Military College’s Mario Alford flipping to WVU from Arizona. Here are the quick bios:
Grant Lingafelter (Chagrin Falls HS, Chagrin Falls, OH) – OL – Originally a Miami (OH) commit, Lingafelter visited and flipped his commitment to WVU less than two weeks ago. Lingafelter probably won’t see the field for at least two seasons, so redshirting for 2013 is probable.
Marcell Lazard (Bloomfield HS, Bloomfield, NJ) – OL – Tabbed as the thirteenth best player in New Jersey by Rivals.com, Lazard help power a Bloomfield High School rushing attack that totaled over 3,500 yards. Lazard dominated the high school game and he has the size, but it could take time to strengthen to the level of a college offensive tackle.
Mario Alford (Georgia Military College/Greenville, GA) – WR – WVU flipped Alford on signing day from Arizona. Alford, rated as a four-star prospect by ESPN, led Georgia Military College in rushing with 541 yards and six touchdowns while also hauling in eight passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns.
Daryl Worley (Penn Charter School, Philadelphia, PA) – DB – With West Virginia needing secondary help, Worley should be vying for playing time come fall camp. Offered by 11 other schools including Penn State, Rutgers and Tennessee, Worley has turned heads with his ball hawking ability.
