First Three LOI’s Are In!

The first three National Letters of Intent are in for West Virginia. WVU’s received official word from Al-Rasheed Benton, Elijah Wellman and Jeremy Tyler. Here are their quick profiles:

Al-Rasheed Benton (Shabazz HS, Newark, NJ) – LB – Rated as the fifteenth best player in New Jersey by the NJ Star Ledger, Al-Rasheed Benton is a sure tackler. The Newark native, Benton, has potential to succeed on the inside of Keith Patterson’s 3-4 scheme.

Elijah Wellman (Spring Valley HS, Huntington, WV) – RB – For sure a blocking back, Wellman will likely redshirt in 2013 as he needs to develop. Making first team All-State in West Virginia, Wellman is the only signee of the class from within the state.

Jeremy Tyler (Martin Luther King HS, Lithonia, GA) – S – Tyler provided WVU with a surprise by sending his letter of intent to Morgantown. A three-star prospect by Rivals, Tyler was offered by 21 other schools including SEC powers South Carolina and Texas A&M. A hard hitting safety, Tyler is athletic and should benefit from playing under Tony Gibson.
